Cindy Post Massion was a personal injury trial lawyer for almost 39 years before becoming a Certified Circuit Court Mediator. She was born and
raised in Miami, Florida, the daughter of a well-respected plaintiff’s attorney and school psychologist. She attended FSU as a music education major
and was a member of the Marching Chiefs, then worked for a year as a legal secretary before attending law school, also at FSU. Upon graduation
from law school, she returned to Miami where she began her first job at a firm which was transitioning from a defense practice to a plaintiff’s practice.
She had the fortunate opportunity of handling and trying cases for both injured plaintiffs as well as defendants and insurance companies. She then
devoted the remainder of her legal career to mainly insurance defense work, both as house counsel for FPL and USAA and for private firms. After
practicing in south Florida for 18 years, she and her family moved to Tallahassee where she practiced for an additional 20 plus years in private practice.
Over the course of her career, Cindy handled all types of personal injury cases ranging from soft tissue injuries to traumatic brain injuries, catastrophic
physical injuries, and wrongful death actions. As a young attorney, the mediation practice was slowly evolving, and it did not take long for Cindy to
discover the benefits of mediation as an alternate way to resolve disputes. As a trial attorney, Cindy participated in jury and bench trials in Dade, Broward,
Palm Beach, Leon, Bay, and Taylor counties. Over the course of her legal career, she represented clients in hundreds of meditations over the years with
dozens of different mediators and gained much insight from those experiences. She brings her years of experience as a trial attorney and knowledge
of the law as well as the patience and compassion she has developed as a mother and grandmother to assist litigants in successfully mediating their cases
thereby avoiding the costs, disruption of daily lives, and stress involved in protracted litigation.
